Of New Dunkin’ Donuts Restaurant
Super Bowl Champ D’Marco Farr To Attend Grand Opening Celebration
Benefitting St. Louis Area Foodbank on March 2
St. Louis, MO (March 2012)—Dunkin' Donuts, America’s favorite all-day, everyday stop for coffee and baked goods, will celebrate its grand opening in Fairview Heights, IL at 6008 N. Illinois Rd. on Friday, March 2.
Former St. Louis Ram and current Fox Sports Network commentator D’Marco Farr, Mayor Gail Mitchell and Fredbird will be on hand for the grand opening, which will benefit the St. Louis Area Foodbank. In 2011, the Foodbank distributed more than 25 million pounds of food to families in need in 26 counties in Missouri and Illinois.
Beginning at 7 a.m., St. Louis Area Foodbank representatives will be on hand to accept canned good donations and in exchange, distribute coupons for Free Medium Hot Coffees. Guests who make at least a $2.00 cash donation to the St. Louis Area Foodbank will be given a $2.00 Dunkin’ Donuts Card*.
At 9 a.m., Farr and Mayor Mitchell will arrive to participate in a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the local franchise owners and other community guests. As part of its commitment to the people and communities in which it operates, Dunkin’ Donuts will donate $1,000 to the St. Louis Area Foodbank to help support food drives. Fredbird will help collect canned goods and distribute Dunkin’ Donuts travel mugs to guests.
Following the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Farr will greet guests and sign autographs until 11 a.m. WXOS-FM will broadcast from the event 9 – 11 a.m. and invite guests to enter to win two tickets to a Cardinals game.
At 11 a.m., the Belleville Township High School East band will arrive to entertain guests. A $500 donation will be made by Dunkin’ Donuts to the school’s music department.
The new restaurant is owned by Michael Geller, who currently operates Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Kirkwood, MO and Rock Hill, MO. All his restaurants offer high-quality, great-tasting menu items that can be enjoyed all day, including signature favorites such as a wide-variety of hot and iced coffee, other beverages, baked goods and the new bakery deli sandwiches including ham, turkey, chicken salad and tuna salad. The restaurants are open 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. with 24-hour drive-thru windows, seven days a week.
Geller, whose family has been in the business of owning and operating Dunkin’ Donuts on the East Coast for more than 20 years, is married and lives in West County. He earned post-graduate degrees from Washington University in St. Louis and plans to open future DD locations in the St. Louis area.
