HAZELWOOD, MO (July 30, 2012) – St. Louis Mills, the largest outlet and value retail shopping destination in the state, will once again celebrate Missouri’s Tax-Free Holiday on Saturday, August 4 through Monday, August 6. During this time, shoppers will enjoy a sales-tax exemption*, a back-to-school expo and deeper discounts on select essentials including apparel, footwear, electronics, backpacks and more for the upcoming school year.

According to the National Retail Federation, nearly 50 percent of this year’s back-to-school shoppers will shop for sales more often and nearly 40 percent will look to use coupons. With more than 175 popular outlet and value retail stores, St. Louis Mills will be the ideal destination for back-to-school shoppers looking for a bargain.

Plus, back-to-school shoppers will enjoy St. Louis Mills’ Back-to-School Fair, featuring information on a variety of educational and extracurricular activities, on Saturday, August 4 from 10 a.m. – 2p.m. between Entries 1 and 2. The Hazelwood School District Back to School Fair will provide parents and students the chance to learn about every school in the district (each school will have its own informational booth), including details about school supplies, uniforms, clubs and activities, bus routes, breakfast and lunch, and more.

Shoppers can also stop by the “No More Bullying” event featuring key speakers sharing personal stories and tips about bullying, a Radio Disney Road crew, an autograph signing from the St. Louis Rams, a car display and command center from the Hazelwood police department, giveaways, and more from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. located at the iceZone near entry 3.

*Items qualifying for the tax exempt holiday include; school supplies, clothing and footwear selling for $100 or less per item and computers valued at $1,500 or less per item.
